CLASS 8 CHAPTER 16
Light
Day 6

Dear Learners,

In the previous blogs, we have learned about multiple images and uses of plane mirror. Let me help you to recall few important points that were discussed in previous blogs.

1.
Multiple images are the images that are formed when two or more mirrors are placed infront of each other and an object is placed between them.
2. Multiple images of are formed when an object is placed between two mirrors at an angle(θ)
3. Plane mirror can be used in different ways.

Today, we will be learning about the various applications based on Multiple Images like Kaleidoscope and Periscope.

Important Instruction to note:

There will Google Assessment Sheet in next blog i.e blog 7. You all need to prepare well for Force and Pressure.

Happy Learning!😊

At the end of it, you will be able to:
1. explain the applications based on multiple image.
2. tell the working of Kaleidoscope and Periscope.
3. tell the uses of Periscope.

Before, we start the chapter you all should read page no 255, 256 of your text book. By doing this, it will be easier for you all understand the topic well.

So, lets start the topic.........

APPLICATIONS BASED ON MULTIPLE IMAGES

1. KALEIDOSCOPE:

Construction of Kaleidoscope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfv0EPxMpkU

Working of Kaleidoscope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgzOks88c4U

Kaleidoscope is based on the principle of formation of multiple images by inclined mirrors.

2. PERISCOPE:

Construction of Periscope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaDOGKdRMzg

Working of Periscope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prxP0rNmaSA

Uses of Periscope: It is device which is used for seeing objects which are not in direct line of sight such as ships on the surface of water from submarine. It is based on the principle of reflection by plane mirror.

Periscope is based on the principle of reflection of light. I hope you all have enjoyed the above topic and also understood the concept well.
