Day 2

"Always Question, Always Wonder

Dear Learners,
Thank you for logging in! You're wonderful!😊

Happy Learning!😊

This is our second class for this chapter. At the end of it, you will be able to:
1. Estimate various units of forces.
2. Define the Resultant force.
3. Explain the different cases of the Resultant force.

Units of Force:

  • SI (International System of Units) unit is the newton (N).
  • other units are kgf (kilogram force) gf ( gram force).
  • 1kgf=1000gf
  • 1kgf=9.8N
https://youtu.be/OKC_g3obGTo (( Check this video on SI units) (Optional)

Resultant Force:

The single force which acts on a body to produce the same effect in it as done by all the forces collectively is called the resultant force.

Case 1: When two forces act along the same line in the same direction.

Case 2: When two forces act along the same line but in the opposite direction.

Case 3: When two equal forces act along the same line but in the opposite direction.

In case 3 resultant force will be 0.
