This is our first class for this chapter. At the end of it, you will be able to:
1. Define Force.
2. Justify that forces are due to an interaction.
3. Distinguish between Contact and Non- contact forces.
4. Explain various types of Contact and Non-contact forces.

2. Diagram need to be drawn with pencil. It should be well labelled.


FORCE:

A push or pull acting on a body that tends to change its state of rest or of motion is called a force.
The direction in which the body is pushed or pulled is called the direction of the force.

Forces are due to an interaction: 
Force is the cause and the change in the motion of the object is the effect.

    Assignment:

    • A plastic comb, when rubbed in dry hair, can attract small pieces of paper. Name the force and its nature. 
    • Read from pg. 170-174 of the textbook.
